About Blackpool Surveyors

David has been surveying properties across Blackpool and Lancashire for over 18 years. He founded Blackpool Surveyors after spending more than a decade working for regional and national firms, growing increasingly frustrated that larger practices couldn't give clients the personal, local service they deserved.

Having grown up in the Fylde area, David knows the local housing stock intimately — from the Victorian terraces of Bispham to the Edwardian semis of South Shore. He specialises in complex older properties and period buildings, and has a particular interest in buildings at risk on the Fylde Coast.

When he's not on site, David enjoys walking the coastal paths between Blackpool and Cleveleys with his two dogs — which also doubles as an opportunity to spot any interesting properties on the seafront.

James joined Blackpool Surveyors after five years working for a major national surveying firm. He quickly found that the personal, local approach at Blackpool Surveyors was far more rewarding — both for him and for clients.

He specialises in residential surveys across the whole Fylde Coast, with particular expertise in terraced houses and flats in the Blackpool town centre area. James handles the majority of our Level 2 home buyer surveys and is known for the clarity and readability of his reports.

"The most rewarding calls I get are from first-time buyers who tell me my survey saved them from a money pit," says James. "That's why I do this job."

Sarah brings a wealth of experience in both residential surveying and formal property valuation. Having worked for a North West valuation consultancy before joining Blackpool Surveyors, she's ideally placed to handle our RICS Red Book valuations, Help to Buy assessments, and Level 3 building surveys.

Sarah has a particular expertise in coastal properties — understanding the unique challenges that exposure to the Irish Sea brings to properties along the Fylde Coast. She also regularly lectures to trainee surveyors on residential valuation methodology.

"No two surveys are the same," Sarah says. "Even two identical houses on the same street can throw up completely different issues. That's what keeps it interesting."
